About EntityExtraction
What is EntityExtraction?
EntityExtraction, or EnEx™, is an extraction engine, that takes the text you submitted, and finds all the biomedical terms in it. Then it annotates those terms.
What advantage does EnEx have?
EnEx finds all instances of over 2 million biomedical concepts, expressed in over 20 million different terms (synonyms). Therefore EnEx has a very wide coverage.
EnEx ensures extraction performance can't get lower than some lower bounds. And then when EnEx is customized for a particular domain, like detecting diagnosis codes in a patient discharge summary, or detecting prescription drungs in patient's medical record, the performance of EnEx will improve and reach that of human expert manual extraction. "Performance" here is detected by measures like Precision & Recall, or Sensitivity & Specificity.
How much does EnEx cost?
We provide EnEx to you free of charge. However it does cost significant amount of money to run and maintain EnEx software and hardware.
This site is for demonstration purpose. You will need to send a request to be able to use the production-level automated service. Accessing this demonstration site may require authentication as well.
How to contact EnEx?
You can send email to EnEx (custserv@bmlsearch.com).
Also you can use the online feedback form.
